Lexis Web

LexisNexis have released a new website called Lexis Web this is a federated search tool that searches across a wide range of websites. Includes important, legal-oriented Web content, selected and validated by the LexisNexis editorial staff. Searching the site is currently free. http://www.lexisweb.com/

Legal Databases on Trial

We have the following databases on trial for the month of October early November. Passwords will be given in class or can be requested from the library desk or by emailing fmorrissey@ait.ie

Justis-(Includes the Irish Reports dating back to 1838). We have now taken a full subscription to this database.
Lexis Nexis-The most comprehensive legal library in the UK containing an unrivalled collection of case law, expert commentary, and primary and secondary legislation as amended. Trial ends 5th of November 2008.
Westlaw UK-Used extensively by law firms, the public sector, academic institutions, the bar and the judiciary, Westlaw UK is the UK's online legal information service. Trial ends 5th of November 2008.
Murdoch's Irish Legal Companion-This general Irish legal resource contains: Murdoch's dictionary of Irish law, The Acts of the Oireachtas and The Law Reform Commission Reports. Trial expires the 2nd of November.

Legal Research & Writing Class

Classes for the legal research & writing module will commence on Sept 24th and will take place in IT lab 3. It is recommended that students buy a USB stick for use in the classes.
